Russia’s investment in US treasuries rise to $4.5 bln in Jan

MOSCOW, Mar 16 (PRIME) -- Russia’s investment in U.S. treasury bills rose to U.S. $4.5 billion in January from $3.9 billion in December 2021, the U.S. Treasury Department said on Wednesday.

Russia held $2 million of long-term U.S. securities and $4.501 billion of short-term securities in November.

Russia is not among the largest owners of the U.S. debt, as Moscow has been decreasing its $96 billion holding since 2018.
